This thread has been made to make your searching through the site easier and to help explain the forum's uses along with answering a few frequently asked questions. Before posting it is recommend, though not necessary, to look through this brief introduction for your own benefit.

II: Rules

Quote:
Question: Where can I purchase Counter-Strike: Source?

Answer: All local stores such as Wal-Mart, Best-Buy still sell them for $19.95. You may also purchase it off Steam once you download it.
-----
Question: I made a thread a day ago to get some help and it's in the proper category, but I still didn't receive any help!

Answer: We try are best to answer all questions as soon as we can but sometimes we might not know how to help, or we're currently inactive for some reason. Remember, we're not the official web site, Steam might provided you with a better answer. Please contact Steam Support if you're not getting helped.
-----
Question: How do I find out if I can run Counter-Strike: Source before I buy it?

Answer: Simply check the requirements manually or if you're unsure do a Steam Diagnostic Test. There are also many other web sites that can tell you if you can run any game such as the System Requirements Lab.

IV: CSS/Steam Help
If you need any Counter-Strike technical support then we have a total of six help forums that you may go to. Just please read our Steam Support and Counter-Strike: Source Help Guide before hand and include a Dxdiag and a Steam Diagnostic Test with your question. However, it is recommended that if you have any in-game problems with Counter-Strike: Source or 1.6 that you contact the official Steam support as we're not guaranteed to help you. Along with this, Steam also offers a large Support Center which could answer your question faster than us.

V: Server Admin Help
If you want to know how to build a server please read: "How to create a server". If you want to know where to buy a Counter-Strike server please read: "Where to buy a CS Server". All further help about servers can be asked in our Server Administration Help Forum.
